Testimonies

Dear River of Joy,
Pastor Charity gave me the gas card you sent last month-it so blessed us at such a time of need. Upon my arrival last July (after Pastor Charity invited me to relocate last June), I have been blessed by seeing the Kingdom of God at hand. There is such a great harvest and the workers are so few. When I was given the gas card, I had been crying out to The Lord, how will I get where I need to go? We had just spent over 1200 in car repairs (which was our bills and travel money) which took us from having enough for the month of December to not knowing how we were going to drive around the rez or get out to Manderson (where we teach the children and ladies in a house). I knew I had heard from The Holy Spirit to be out here not as a short mission but to make this my home base, so I knew He was going to come through but still the enemy was whispering.

I was hearing things like I was a failure, I had not heard from God, I had messed up, I was not supposed to be here, etc...We had our propane shut off in our home recently when it was really cold and were feeling pretty beat up after being stranded in our home over Christmas with not enough money to go see our sons, and other birth family members. All this was piled up and I was beginning to doubt not God but my own ability to hear from Him and then Charity gave the $100 gas card you all sent.

It was like a cold glass of water on a hot day-I had given up my Christmas gifts from my family so that they could buy for the kids out here-23 of them were given new boots, gloves, socks, and the toy on their list. The real test came when even though I told everyone back home not to get anything for me, to my surprise no one did. So here I was, the true condition of my heart in all of its wretched self pity and doubt wrenching my spirit when a stranger from across the country is moved to bless me. It took me a while to find you on the net to say thanks. I would have written a letter but that would have taken too long at this point.

Funny thing is my mother is a German Jew/Manx from Cleveland, and here I am in South Dakota getting something from her home town. Funny how God works.

Shalom-Jennifer Dixon

If it wasn't for RIVER OF JOY, we wouldn't of had Christmas and I wouldn't of known how to explain to my children. So I want to thank all of you for making my children happy on Christmas day.
